Collection consists of  the Dallas Population Handbook, 1960.

Published by the Urban Studies Project of the Department of Sociology at Southern Methodist University, the 1960 Dallas Population Handbook presents selected facts about the population and economy of the City of Dallas and Dallas County. The information has been collected from  the U.S. Censuses of Population and Housing, reports of the National Office of Vital Statistics, and other sources.  The purpose of the Handbook was to select, compute and arrange census tract data to make them available and useful to the local Dallas-area user.  General information includes analyses of past and possible future growth, changes in age, sex, and racial composition from 1940 - 1960, socioeconomic characteristics of Dallas, and tables and maps which permit comparisons between the various areas within Dallas County.
